Current Sermon SeriesIn the context we live, Chula Vista & the greater San Diego area, water is a key theme that much of life revolves around. You might have made your living on the waters through the Navy or other marine business, you might find relaxation or exercise in or on the water, of course we must all consume it often, we pray for it to come when it has stayed away for too long & pray for it to go away when the deluge strikes and our ocean waters even dictate much of our temperate climate. Water is central to our themes of life -- this we have in common with Jesus. He of course spent his formative years around the Sea of Galilee and the small fishing villages that adorned this body of water. Water was central to the ways of life to which he was accustomed and not surprisingly the image & metaphor of water often showed up in his teachings. This sermon series will venture through various New Testament stories where water was a focal point. The hope of course, is that through this series together our focal point becomes more squarely centered on what Jesus called, ‘living water.’
