Office & Preschool CLOSED on Monday, September 6 for Labor Day!

In Crisis, Need to Contact a Pastor? From time to time we find ourselves in situations in life when the church office is closed and we need a pastor. In order to serve you in this time of need we have a new voice mail number 619-407-1880. Call that number, leave a message with your concern and contact number and the pastor ‘on call’ will receive the message and respond ASAP.

A couple instructions about this ministry:
1. If your need is during regular office hours (M-F, 9 am – 5 pm), call the office
2. If you're calling to make a regular appointment with a pastor, please do so through the office
3. “Hey pastor, what time is the meeting next Tuesday” is not an emergency.

“Mas despacio, por favor” (Slower please!). Do you know anybody who speaks “a little English”, a worker, neighbor or a friend? We are offering English Classes for Beginners here at church on Thursdays at 7pm in the Discovery Center. All are welcome!

Happy Anniversary! ¡Feliz Aniversario! The congregation in Spanish is celebrating a new anniversary and we want to invite you to be a part of it next Sunday, September 12th, alter 9:30am worship, by sharing some finger foods with us!

Also, we will provide dinner for Wednesday Night Special (WNS) on September 15th with all proceeds supporting the Women’s Retreat for the Congregation in Spanish. Tickets will be on sale at the end of worship today and in the office during the week.

Attention Men: New study starts Sept. 15th. We will be starting a new study, “A Man’s Guide to the Bible” a new Man in the Mirror series. Over the 12 week period, this study will cover Bible Basics, Difficulties, Reliability, The Plot and so much more. If you are new to studying the bible or if you have been a student for a while, this study is for you. Come join us on Wednesday evenings, starting September 15th at 6:30pm in the Disciples Lounge.

Voices in Praise (Children’s Choir). The first day of rehearsals will be Wednesday, September 8th, and the choir is open to all 3rd through 8th graders. There is no cost for this choir. The Voices in Praise sing for worship approximately once-a-month, work on two musicals, one choir festival, and have the opportunity to make a recording to submit to the San Diego Padres. Registration in advance is encouraged but not necessary. The choir is open to all, regardless of religious affiliation.

"Gathering in the Lounge". Meet every Sundays at 11:00am, upstairs in the Fellowship Hall. It is an informal gathering for fellowship, study, sharing and music. All interested persons are invited. See you there!

Friday Night Couples Group. “Balanced & Blessed” Experiencing Marriage the way it’s meant to be. All couples are welcome to join. Began July 23rd. Each Friday night session will start off with a “Potluck Dinner” at 6:30pm. There will be a total of six sessions that meet in the Discovery Center and they will run till approx. 8:30pm. Childcare will be provided. There will be a study guide available for $7.00 ea. If you are planning to attend, please contact Dave Balk so we can make sure we have enough study guides, sign up for the potluck, etc. davebalk@sbcglobal.net (or) 619-778-4361

Did You Know Our Church Will Be 100 YEARS OLD in MAY 2011? Please help with your thoughts, ideas, suggestions to make this interesting and fun for our congregation as well as an outreach for our community. Please consider the following suggestions and any other ideas you have for making our celebration come alive: Activities, Art (possible logo), Events, Historical information of people/events you know of, Projects. We plan to make a CD. What would you like to see on this?

Preschool Registration. Preschool Registration for the 2010 to 2011 school year has begun. There will be a four week summer session from June14th to July 9th. The school calendar follows very closely the calendar for the Chula Vista Elementary School District. We pride ourselves on being one of the finest preschools in San Diego County and continue to keep high quality available to families needing our services.
